Congressman Young Continuously Supports Our Nation's Veterans

“Veterans deserve the best care we can give them, and I will continue to consistently vote for every bill that assists them.” -Rep. Young

Washington, D.C., May 24 -

Multiple pieces of legislation that would work to benefit our nation’s veterans were passed in the U.S. House of Representatives yesterday.  Congressman for All Alaska Don Young supported each of the seven bills presented before the House.

“I am always proud to vote in favor of any bill that will help our country’s veterans,” said Congressman Young.  “Alaska is home to five significantly large military installations and thousands of courageous members of the Armed Services.  Each one is serving their country heroically and they deserve the best care we can give them.  Every day our service members are sacrificing so much.  In a time of war, and in light of news that veterans’ hospitals have not been serving them as well as they should, Congress must make a renewed commitment to helping our men and women in uniform.  These bills get us back on track.  Veterans deserve the best care we can give them, and I will continue to consistently vote for every bill that assists them.”

The bills brought to the floor were the following:

H.Res. 392 - Urging Americans and people of all nationalities to visit the American Cemeteries, Memorials and Markers

H.R. 67 - Veterans Outreach Improvement Act of 2007

H.R. 1660 – To direct the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to establish a national cemetery for veterans in the southern Colorado region

H.R. 612 - Returning Servicemember VA Healthcare Insurance Act of 2007

H.R. 1470 - Chiropractic Care Available to All Veterans Act

H.R. 2199 – Traumatic Brain Injury Health Enhancement and Long-Term Support Act of 2007
