Rep. Young Praises Disaster Declaration

Washington, D.C. – Alaskan Congressman Don Young released the following statement today regarding the announcement that President Obama has declared a major disaster declaration for the State of Alaska:

“I am happy that the President and his Administration can recognize the tragic impacts that the excessive flooding has had on some rural Alaskans,” said Rep. Young.  “This declaration will bring federal assistance to those who currently need it most.  Our duty is to now make sure that assistance reaches those people as quickly and efficiently as possible.  This is welcome news, and the hope is that those affected can start putting their lives back together again.”
