Congressman Don Young Supports Illinois Congressman Hastert as Speaker

I'm confident that new Speaker will support issues important to Alaskans
Alaska Congressman Don Young said today that he will strongly support the election of Representative Dennis Hastert (R-IL) as the new Speaker of the House.
"I am confident that Speaker Hastert will work closely with me and the members of my committee to pass major legislation which effects the resources of both Alaska and America. I have worked with Rep. Hastert on a Member to Member basis since 1986, and in his leadership role since being elected as Chief Deputy Whip," Young said.
The House is expected to consider the election for Speaker of the House as one of it's first tasks following the convening of the new Congress.
