Washington, D.C., Jan 22 | comments

WASHINGTON, DC – Alaskan Congressman Don Young is pleased to announce his subcommittee assignments on the House Natural Resources and House Transportation and Infrastructure committees for the 113th Congress.

Committee on Natural Resources:

The Subcommittee on Indian and Alaska Native Affairs (Chairman)

The Subcommittee on Fisheries, Wildlife, Oceans and Insular Affairs

The Subcommittee on Public Lands and Environmental Regulation

Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure:

The Subcommittee on Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation

The Subcommittee on Highways and Transit

The Subcommittee on Water Resources and Environment

“I am excited to work with Chairman Bill Shuster (R-PA) and again with Chairman Doc Hastings (R-WA) on the Transportation and Infrastructure and Natural Resources committees, which have great significance to Alaska,” Rep. Young said.  “I have sat on the Resources Committee since I entered Congress, and I will continue to promote the responsible development of Alaska’s natural resources.  With over sixty percent of Alaska’s land under the control of the federal government, the actions of the Natural Resources Committee have a lasting impact on our state."

“On the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, I will continue to fight on behalf of Alaska’s interests for greater investment in transportation projects in the Arctic and throughout our State, and preventing the EPA’s overreach and over regulation of Alaskan businesses.  Overall, I look forward to getting the nation’s economy back on track, and I look forward to a productive 113th Congress.”

Congressman Young was the Chairman of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee from January 2001 – January 2007; and was the Chairman of the Natural Resources Committee from January 1995 – January 2001, and Ranking Member from 2007-2008.
