Congressman and Mrs. Don Young have selected Mary Lynn (Mollie) Hensley of Anchorage to represent Alaska in the 2000 National Conference of State Societies Cherry Blossom Festival.
“We are very pleased that Mollie will serve as Alaska’s Cherry Blossom Princess,” said Alaska Congressman and Mrs. Don Young.
Mollie was born in Anchorage and attended Service High School, where she participated in basketball and the theater program. She went on to attend Amherst College in Massachusetts and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theater and Dance. Mollie currently live in New York City and is an aspiring actress. She has participated in several productions in New York, including The Three Sisters, MacBeth, The Dutchman and several original plays.
Mollie is the daughter of Willie and Abbie Hensley. She is one of four children. Mollie has two sisters, Pricilla and Elizabeth, and one brother, James. Mollie’s many hobbies include reading, writing plays and modern dance.
