Delegation Announces Grants and Loans to Alaska Programs

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Alaska Congressional Delegation is pleased to announce a series of grants to local communities, groups and agencies in the State of Alaska.

Department of the Army:

  • $18,773,000 to Elmendorf Air Force Base for the construction and design of a 92 room dormitory
  • $15,578,576 to Alutiiq International Solutions, LLC to design and build transitional facilities for a fiscal year 2007 brigade complex

Department of Health and Human Services:

·       $143,555 for the State Health Insurance Assistance Program

Department of Transportation:

·       $2,700,000 to extend the runway safety area at Valdez Pioneer Field

·       $9,000,000 for runway rehabilitation at Fairbanks International Airport

·       $4,000,000 for construction of a snow removal equipment building in Minto, Alaska

·       $4,600,000 towards the construction of a new airport in Alakanuk, Alaska

·       $1,320,000 for equipment at Merrill Field in Anchorage

·       $1,400,000 for an aircraft rescue and fire fighting vehicle at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport

·       $6,373,030 towards the construction of a new airport in Manokotak, Alaska

·       $5,000,000 for runway extension in Point Lay, Alaska

Department of Transportation/Federal Aviation Administration:

  • $950,000 towards the construction of a new airport in Angoon, Alaska
  • $650,000 for improvements on snow removal equipment building in various locations around Alaska
  • $1,600,000 for taxiway construction at Merrill Field in Anchorage
  • $1,900,000 for taxiway construction in Wasilla, Alaska
  • $420,000 for land acquisition in Chicken, Alaska
  • $1,092,500 for land acquisition in Soldotna, Alaska
  • $150,000 to conduct an airport master plan study in Chistochina, Alaska
  • $291,393 to conduct an airport master plan stuffy in Akutan, Alaska
  • $2,813,000 for runway rehabilitation in Palmer, Alaska
  • $200,000 to update the airport master plan study in Palmer, Alaska
  • $2,300,000 for construction of a sand and chemical storage building in Cordova, Alaska
  • $252,000 for snow removal equipment in Nenana, Alaska
  • $9,900,000 for runway rehabilitation in Nome, Alaska
  • $2,500,000 to update the state system plan study in various locations around Alaska
  • $1,185,000 for snow removal equipment in various locations around Alaska
  • $1,150,920 for snow removal equipment in various locations around Alaska
  • $2,615,000 for runway construction in Soldotna, Alaska
