A Statement from Rep. Young on the Anniversary of September 11, 2001

The following is a statement from Alaskan Congressman Don Young on the sixth anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001: "Today is not only a day of mourning but a day of remembrance and reflection," said Rep. Young. "Six years ago, cowardly individuals declared war on the United States and attempted to break the spirit of America. They failed. Our country has faced this adversary head on and we have persevered in our fight to defend our freedom. We face a difficult time right now but we remain strong as one Nation. Let us always remember that day, and all of the heroes of that day. Those who breed and harbor terrorists will never get the better of this country or of its citizens. "On this day, let us also remember our men and women of the Armed Forces overseas putting their lives on the line daily to defend our freedom. They have earned and deserve our continuing support and respect as they continually fight for the Unites States." #### |
