Delegation Announces Grants and Contracts to Alaska Programs

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Alaska Congressional Delegation is pleased to announce the following grants, projects, and contracts awarded to communities in the State of Alaska: U.S. Department of Agriculture, Rural Development: $303,605 to the Copper River Native Association to create a videoconferencing network that will enable Native Alaskans living in their villages to receive healthcare services consistent with their traditional practices and cultural perspectives. $401,088 to the Council of Athabascan Tribal Governments to address the disparity in healthcare opportunities between the seven rural communities and the more populated areas of Alaska and the Lower 48. $445,639 to the Lower Kuskokwim School District to expand the SNAP project which connects remote schools in the Lower Kuskokwin School District of Alaska. $485,117 to the Yukon Koyukuk School District for the installation of technology that will allow for educational programming and specialty coursework to rural students. $224,625 to the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium to equip 119 rural and Alaskan bush communities with electronic vital sign monitoring equipment and stethoscopes to enable distant physicians to detect and treat respiratory infections, asthma, chronic pulmonary disease, heart disease, and strokes. $331,519 to the Dena’Hena’Henash (dba) Tanana Chiefs Conference used to place behavioral health kiosks at each of the associated sites which will provide a contained station for patient consultation. Department of the Army: $36,180,502 contract awarded to Alutiiq International Solutions, Anchorage to design/build a Brigade Headquarters, three Battalion Headquarters, two Company Operation Facilities, one Dining Facility, two Tactical Equipment Maintenance Facilities, and associated utilities and site work. # # # |
