Rep. Young Announces Key Funding in Interior Appropriations Bill

Washington, D.C. – Alaskan Congressman Don Young is pleased to announce projects of interest to Alaska in H.R. 2996, the Department of the Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2010 which passed the House today. Rep. Young voted yes on this bill. National Park Service: · $6,741,000 for Katmai to replace failing infrastructure at Brooks Camp
Fish and Wildlife Service: · $500,000 for the Yukon Delta National Wildlife Refuge
· $300,000 for the Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge
· $500,000 for the Togiak National Wildlife Refuge
Indian Health Service: · $4.053 billion, an increase of 13 percent over FY 2009
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency: · State and Tribal Grant Assistance: $5.073 billion, which is an increase of 76 percent. The funding includes $2.307 billion for grants for the Clean Water State Revolving Funds, which is an increase of 235 percent.
Projects Requested By Rep. Young: · $200,000 for the Alaska Sea Otter and Stellar Sea Lion Commission
· $350,000 for the Alaska Sealife Center’s Eider Research Program
