Delegation Announces Grants and Contracts to Alaska Programs

Washington, D.C. - The Alaska Congressional Delegation is pleased to announce the following grants and contracts awarded to communities in the State of Alaska: US Department of Labor · $1,900,000 to Unemployment Insurance Program to make technology upgrades that will improve the operation and security of unemployment insurance systems US Department of Transportation · $950,000 to City of Gustavus to build a breakaway float adjacent to the Gustavus Causeway in order to provide small boat mooring and protection from Icy Straight US Department of Education · $393,738 to the Tanana Chiefs Conference under the Rehabilitation Services program to provide vocational rehabilitation services to American Indians and Alaskan natives with disabilities · $335,278 to the Kodiak Area Native Association under the Rehabilitation Services program to provide vocational rehabilitation services to American Indians and Alaskan natives with disabilities · $67.31 million to Alaska in formula grants to support state administered programs that support teachers and help students reach high standards US Department of Health and Human Services · $750,000 to the Alaska Primary Care Association in Anchorage under the ARRA to expand health care services to low-income and uninsured individuals through its health center program · $1,373,240 to the Dena’ Nana’ Henash dba Tanana Chiefs Conference in Fairbanks under the ARRA to expand health care services to low-income and uninsured individuals through its health center program · $800,000 to the Rural Alaska Community Action Program under the Strengthening Communities Fund to improve the ability of nonprofit organizations to promote the economic recovery of people with low incomes · $500,000 to $3,000,000 contract per project for the alteration, renovation and rehabilitation of NIH facilities Minerals Management Service · $80,000 to the Alaska North Slope Borough under the State’s Coastal Impact Assistance Program Plan for implementation and enhancement of permitting activities of the North Slope US Department of Agriculture · $273,584 to Alaska as a bonus for outstanding and timely customer service in providing Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits US Department of the Navy · $30,561,782 to Chugach Industries, Anchorage ($17,579,983 FFP and 12,981,799 IDIQ) contract for modification under a FFP, IDIQ contract for the exercise of option 4 for Base Operations Support Services in the Navy region Northwest, North Sound area US Transportation Command · $22,165,293.59 (19,165,293.59 minimum
