Washington, D.C. - The Alaska Congressional Delegation is pleased to announce the following grants awarded to communities in the State of Alaska: 

National Park Service: 

·       $75,000 to Kolmakovsky Redoubt Collection, Fairbanks to preserve the original blockhouse and stabilize the archaeological collections of the first Russian fort in the interior of Alaska. As part of the Save America’s Treasures grants.  

U.S. Department of Health and Human Services: 

·       $748,487 to the Bristol Bay Area Health Corp Special Diabetes Programs for Indians to promote diabetes treatment and prevention.

·       $140,352 to the Ketchikan Indian Community Division of Diabetes Treatment and Prevention to support special diabetes programs.

U.S. Department of Agriculture National Institute of Food and Agriculture: 

·       $ 149,911 to the University of Alaska, Anchorage to use plant-soil feedback to inform an activated carbon-based restoration program.

U.S. Department of the Army:

·       $7,231,472 to Bristol Environmental Remediation Services for Hazardous, Toxic and Radioactive Waste Remediation Services. 

U.S. Department of Energy:

·       $39,300 to Chilkat Indian Village (Klukwan) Tribe to help communities improve their energy efficiency, reduce their energy use and fossil fuel emissions, and create green jobs locally. 

·       $37,800 to Mentasta Traditional Council Tribe to help communities improve their energy efficiency, reduce their energy use and fossil fuel emissions, and create green jobs locally. 

U.S. Department of the Navy:  

·       $9,175,000 to Advanced Technology Construction Corporation for the design and construction of a new Child Development Center at Naval Air Station, Whidbey Island, Oak Harbor, Washington.  Two percent of the work for this project will be completed in Alaska.
