Rep. Young Leads Hearing On Sealaska Land Entitlement Bill

Washington, D.C. – A hearing was held in the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Natural Resources today, on the Southeast Alaska Native Land Entitlement Finalization Act, introduced by Alaskan Congressman Don Young. This bipartisan legislation will allow the Sealaska Native Corporation to receive its remaining land conveyance under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA) of 1971. Sens. Murkowski and Begich have introduced the companion legislation in the Senate as well. Rep. Young first took the lead on this legislation in the 110th Congress.
