Alaskan Congressman Don Young released the following statement this afternoon on the loss of Air Force Captain Jeffrey Haney, 525th Fighter Squadron, 3rd Wing:
“I was extremely saddened to learn that the search for Captain Haney has now become a recovery mission. Alaska is very proud of its strong military community and their courageous service to our country; this loss is tragic to say the least. Captain Haney was a great American and a great Alaskan. My thoughts, prayers, and deepest sympathies are with his family, and the men and women of Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson during this incredibly difficult time.”
