Rep. Young Announces Transportation Committee Assignments
Washington D.C.,
January 21, 2011
Alaskan Congressman Don Young is pleased to announce his Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee assignments for the 112th Congress.
“I am excited to be back on these subcommittees,” said Rep. Young. “Each one of them is incredibly beneficial to Alaska. Through these subcommittees I’ll be able to help craft the new highway bill, which is once of the best vehicles we have for jobs and economic development. I’m also looking forward to holding EPA’s feet to the fire on regulatory issues under water resources. Additionally, the Coast Guard Subcommittee is vital for Alaska, not only because Alaska has the largest Coast Guard base in the country but also because as a riverboat captain, maritime issues are very near and dear to my heart. I have always been passionate about transportation and infrastructure, the jobs it provides to hard working Americans, and the development of our country. I am excited to work with Chairman Mica and about the challenges ahead of us in the 112th Congress.”
