Memorial Day Message from Rep. Young

Alaskan Congressman Don Young released the following statement today in observance of Memorial Day:
“On Memorial Day we remember the great sacrifices made by those who valued freedom above even their own lives. Those who have given their lives, their families and the veterans of the past deserve a great deal of gratitude for their service and sacrifice.
“I urge all Americans to pay their respects, not just this weekend, but every day of the year. Alaska knows firsthand the greatness of our servicemen and women. Alaska would not be the state that it is today were it not for the thousands of military members and their families who call Alaska home. I know I speak for all Alaskans when I say thank you for your service and for your sacrifices.
“May God bless our military, past and present, and their families for preserving the freedoms that make America the greatest nation in the world.”
