House Passes Juneau Courthouse Naming Bill
Washington D.C.,
July 23, 2012
The House of Representatives today passed legislation (H.R. 4347) sponsored by Alaskan Congressman Don Young and supported by the entire Alaska Congressional Delegation to name the courtroom inside the Juneau Federal Building after the late Judge Robert Boochever.
“Judge Boochever left his mark throughout the state of Alaska – in particular Juneau,” said Rep. Young. “While best known for his work in Alaska’s legal community, Judge Boochever participated in several organizations such as the American Red Cross and Juneau Rotary Club. Naming the Juneau courtroom is a fitting tribute to a great man and a great Alaskan.”
Congressman Young, as a Senior Republican on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, was able to quickly move this bill through Committee and out of the House.
Now that it has passed the House, H.R. 4347 awaits action in the Senate.
