WASHINGTON, DC – Alaskan Congressman Don Young today issued the following statement after the release of the President’s proposed Fiscal Year 2015 budget.
“One month late and two billion dollars in added spending is not what I call a serious budget proposal,” said Congressman Don Young. “For the millions of Americans who continue to struggle in this difficult economy and even tougher job market, the type of government expansion proposed today – skyrocketing interest, exploding debt, tax hikes, and spending surges – simply does not move this country in the right direction.
“Unfortunately, not only does this budget proposal add more than $8 trillion to the national debt over the next 10 years, but it also greatly increases taxes for individuals, businesses and industries in order to pay for billions in additional spending," Congressman Don Young said. "At times like this, I am truly thankful that Congress controls the country’s purse strings because this President and his proposals do little to jump-start this struggling economy, address deficit reduction, or combat this country's spiraling $17 trillion debt.”
