Keystone Announcement: “Not a Good Friday for American Jobs and Infrastructure”

Washington, D.C., April 18, 2014 | comments

Washington, D.C.  -  Alaskan Congressman Don Young today released this statement following the announcement by the Obama Administration to further delay its decision on the Keystone XL Pipeline.

“I wish I could say I was surprised, but this President has shown us politics and gamesmanship continues to be the standard operating procedure of his Administration,” said Congressman Don Young. “It’s been more than five years since the first application for the Keystone XL Pipeline was submitted to the State Department for approval, and we are still waiting to hear back from an Administration that chooses political strategy and party politics over a project that would boost our economy by adding more than 42,000 new jobs, work towards a more energy independent North America, and add billions in new spending by starting the country’s largest infrastructure project. This announcement, predictably released as the American public’s attention is with family and celebrating the Easter Holiday, is not a good Friday for American jobs and infrastructure."
