Washington, D.C. – Today, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 1, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. Alaska Congressman Don Young released the following statement:

“Reforming our broken and outdated tax code is long overdue -- Americans deserve a system that serves their needs,” said Congressman Young. “I am proud to support this measure and what it means for Alaskan families and businesses. This bill marks the thirteenth time the House has voted to allow for responsible resource development in the 10-02 Area of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) which is crucial to the future of the American energy sector. Opening ANWR means more jobs for Alaskans,  economic growth and securing America’s energy independence for generations to come. I have fought this battle for over 40 years and I am hopeful that we will see this to the finish line.”
